The Breakers Diving and Surfing Lodge Soma Bay

A highly recommended affordable option if you want to go to Soma Bay away from traffic

This hotel is underrated! I had to book in it as other hotels were fully booked but I was surprised that it was a very interesting hotel that I would love to book in again! The staff were so friendly and all smiling. Food was great too.

We enjoyed it!

Our stay was extremely comfortable and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was great, with lots of different vegetarian options and fruits. There was an outdoors dinner on Wednesday night which was lovely.

The room was quite expensive and it didn't have a kettle or tea and/ or coffee available.

really good but not worst the money

staff, tranquillity, location and food was really nice. the access for divers is amazing. The Yoga teacher is amazing. The sustainability project about the hotel is a nice start (water bottle, ecological renovation …)

everything is so expensive ! and you must pay everything and the cost was same in Paris or London (Yoga lesson, drinks) Per night per person is equivalent to a palace without the same quality.

I love this place it’s quite and great location and I love how small it is

they removed the kettle from the rooms,the staff not as friendly with Egyptians ,and the food wasn’t the best

Wonderful

The reef was excellent ... clean and well looked after. No plastic cups on the beach - provided refillable eco water bottles- nice touch. The food was excellent. Beds very comfortable. Great facilities. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.

A kettle in the room for tea/coffee would have made our stay perfect!

Very Good

Nice 3-4 stars hotel with perfect diving center onsite. Tidy. Free Wi-Fi. The food was expectational even with a slightly limited breakfast.

No room service and no kettle in the room, what is the point of having a sea-view room but can't have a warm cup of tea in hand? They will close for renovation in a few months, they need to add a kettle in the room! The area is far from anything, you need to go prepared.

The food is exceptionell. Very good breakfast and dinner. Perfect hotel for couples with no kids or singles. Kite spot is 7 minutes away and really one of the best spots I have seen. Will be back for sure!

Perfect place for water sports.

Snorkelling, scuba diving just wonderful. Very friendly and helpful staff.

No wind during the whole week. Kitesurfing only in the videos at the bar.

Super chilled and easy, kitesurfing and snorkeling.

Well thought of comfort for guests including food vaiety and entertainment. Perfect house reef for snorkeling or diving and kitehouse is like a chilled family! Hotel has so many nice spots to chill and views. Every staff member is super friendly and helpful.

It would be nice to see a bigger variety of guests. Based on assumption we got spoken German to constantly. (Nothing against Germans per se.)

Fantastic stay - will be back again

Excellent location for jetty dives or snorkelling into house reef and boat trips. Staff very friendly and relaxed. Good choice of buffet breakfast and changing dinner menu each night - top marks for the chef!

Bathroom tiles and grout could do with a scrub clean. Not quite sure why there is a towel card policy (though you can change as many times as you want) perhaps the predominant hotel clientele have a tendency to hoard supplies ;-)

Great atmosphere, suited for German travelers

Staff all made an effort to make u feel welcome. Great vibe about the place, especially if u r a diver. Beach bar with chilled tunes a great asset. Plenty of places to chill around the hotel and it never felt full as people were off doing stuff. On the whole the food was good for buffet.

The reception staff were pretty useless. Maybe not booking though a travel agent I was an unusual traveler but I'm used to the reception being more useful. 2 single beds pushed together is the only option in the hotel. The hotel is definitely geared towards German speakers with most of the signs and talks to guests in German. The kite surfing lessons were very expensive, but I've not been able to compare locally , but double the price of in the U.K. It was very expensive for an early check in..... which was quite unavoidable with my flight arriving in the very early hours.

the facilities and the sea closer to the hotel is amazing!!

The hotel is mainly for Germans ... not always friendly for others countries/languages ... for example, the movie in the rooftop was in german with no english subtitles ... some explanations from the manager during breakfast was also in German ... this is a point must be improved in a resort for all nationalities ... unless it is going to be only for german speakers .

Very expensive and quite hotel but with good food and suitable for divers

Snorkeling is accessible in the coral reefs right by the hotel. It has good food and very nice À la Carte lunch for reasonable prices (awesome plates to try : Salmon and Camel filet). People there were friendly. The hotel organizes a gathering for single travelers, movie nights on the roof, live music in the bar.

The room price is very expensive for a rather-simple (and a bit old) half-board lodge. The view from the room was just a boring desert, and the hotel was quite most of the time. Drinks and snack bar were really overpriced. Note that unlike all other Soma bay hotels, this hotel has no swimmable beach water. You need to walk on a long wharf then jump into dark blue water, which is great for snorkeling but not for relaxed swimming. The swimming pool is old and I haven't seen a single person using it.

Very average for Soma Bay. Better to pay a bit more and stay in a nice hotel in Soma Bay.

Wifi in the rooms was working fine.

No double beds in the hotel, is two single beds put together. No bathtub in any of the rooms. Reception staff not very helpful. Wanted to make me pay extra for sea view while I didn't request sea view. They have a "Breakers Time" which is basically one hour later, so is very confusing and everything closes basically 1 hour earlier than anywhere else... Check out is 12:00 "Breakers Time", which is basically 11:00 real time, etc...
